Dental hygiene treatment also gives your teeth a thorough clean, making your mouth feel fresher and healthier, and your teeth look sparkling clean.

Dental hygienists are specially trained to target the hard to reach areas that most people struggle to clean thoroughly at home. At a hygienist appointment, your dentist will visually check your teeth and ask you some questions about your routine, before beginning a deep clean to remove plaque, tartar and stains. Scaling is the first step, and removes hard tartar using polishing and ultrasonic tools, before lifting surface stains like tobacco, tea, coffee and wine with a round of polishing and flossing.

Already included in our dental plans

If you’ve been thinking about switching over to one of our dental plans at Beyu Dental, you’ll be pleased to know that regular hygienist appointments are already included in our pay-monthly plans. This means you don’t have to pay each time you visit for a check-up or dental hygiene appointment, and instead you pay by monthly direct debit. We offer two different membership plans, with costs starting from £29.95 per month.

How often you should see a Dental Hygienist

Your dentist will be able to recommend the best hygiene appointment schedule for you, but most people opt for quarterly, or bi-annually.
